Insights where you already scroll
The on-page UI lives in its own Shadow DOM, so it stays out of Instagram's way. The toolbar popup adapts to the tab you're on.
The dock
A small corner card on Instagram shows the account you're viewing (engagement rate, audit grade, 7-day growth) or how the open post did against that account's typical post.
Save as idea
One click saves any post to your idea bank, with a link back to it, ready to remix in the planner.
Downloads with a preview
Posts on the page, all stories, or a whole highlight. You choose what to save before anything downloads.
Local-first, by design
- • It reads what Instagram has already sent to your browser. There's no server and no InstaInsights account.
- • Optional refresh runs at most every 8 hours, only with an Instagram tab open, and backs off when Instagram rate-limits.
- • Nothing is ever posted for you: the planner reminds you, you post.
- • CSV export, JSON backup and restore, and a history retention setting.
For teams: managed policies
Admins can lock behaviour through Chrome's managed extension policy. Policy always overrides user settings.

Questions
Do I need to log in or create an account?
No. InstaInsights works in the Instagram tab you're already logged in to. There is no InstaInsights account and it never asks for your Instagram password.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser, on your device. There is no backend: nothing is uploaded. You can export CSV, back up to JSON and restore or merge a backup.
Does it post for me?
No. The planner reminds you and gives you the caption (or a QR code to scan on your phone). You post yourself.
How does it get the numbers?
It reads data Instagram has already sent to your browser as you browse. An optional refresh runs every 8 hours while an Instagram tab is open, spaces accounts a few seconds apart and backs off when Instagram rate-limits.
