Page Assistant
The Page assistant tells you what matters on the page you're on, and checks every point against the page. You can ask questions and get answers that cite where the page says it. It runs on Gemini Nano, the AI model built into Chrome, so the page never leaves your computer.
This tool replaces the Text Summarizer from version 1.
Requirements
The Page assistant needs Chrome's built-in AI. When it's available, the tool appears on the home screen under With Chrome's built-in AI. When it isn't, it waits under More tools marked Needs Chrome's built-in AI.
The first time you use it, Chrome may need to download the model:
- 01Open the Page assistant and click Download the model (or Download AI model).
- 02Chrome downloads Gemini Nano once. After that, pages are read on your computer and never sent anywhere.
Brief a Page
- 01Open a product page, article, listing, job post, recipe or docs page.
- 02Open CrawlPilot → Page assistant → Brief this page.
The brief is made for the kind of page. A product brief and an article brief pick out different things. While it writes, CrawlPilot is Checking each point against the page…, and each point then shows what it found:

Click Save to keep a brief on this device. Open Briefs shows the briefs you've saved.
Ask About the Page
Type in Ask about this page and press Enter. Answers cite the parts of the page they come from. Ask follow-up questions in the same box.
- As a table: turn an answer into a table, then Save to My data to export it like any dataset.
- Ask about an image: choose Point at something on the page and click an image, chart or table. Then ask, for example What does this show? or What are the numbers in it?
Does It Fit Me?
On a product or listing, click Does it fit me? and describe What matters to you, for example under $200, for a 5-year-old, ships to Canada. The assistant checks the page against it and answers Fits what matters to you, Partly fits or Doesn't fit, with the reasons. Edit what matters changes your list. What you enter is saved on this device and used only for this check.
What Changed Since I Saved This?
On a page you briefed before, the assistant compares Since you saved this page with What you see now, so you can spot price, stock or content changes.
Troubleshooting
- "Open a web page (http or https)": the assistant can't run on Chrome's own pages, the Chrome Web Store, or PDFs.
- No text found: the page may still be loading its content. Wait for it to finish, then click Check again.
- Points marked "Not found": the model wrote something the page doesn't say. That's why every point is checked. Rely on the points marked On the page.
